The iRiver N10 Series takes compact size and loads it up with enough features to be startling. The device, weighing in at a grand total of 22 grams with battery, is not only one of the smallest, but also the lightest available on the market today.
With a size rivaling that of the thumb flash drives, they can be worn comfortably without fear of being weighed down or inconvenienced by a bulky player. While the sheer physical size of the unit is a beauty, the audio quality is exceptional. With a S/N ratio of 90dB, there are few systems that can beat it.
There are three N10 series models available on the market. Each has a slightly different look coupled with different data storage capacities.
The most affordable of the N10 series is the N10-101. This system includes 128 megs of flash memory, a black and silver design, and can play up to 4 hours of music. You can purchase this system for roughly $139.
The most moderate of the three systems is the N10-103. This device is black with an orange trim, sells for roughly $169, and sports 256 megs of flash memory. The N10-103 can play up to 8 hours of music.
Finally, the top of the line player is the N10-105. This device has 512 megs of flash memory and can play up to 17 hours of music. The casing is black with a yellowed trim. All three of the N10 series players can be worn with the included band and come with comfortable ear buds designed for their use. All three of the tiny players may be used for voice recordings if desired.
In order to make the most of this iRiver series, you will want to have a computer running Windows XP with USB 2.0 support. If you have an older computer, you may want to consider contacting iRiver to find out if your hardware is compatible with the N10 series.
