The Differences between the Creative Digital MP3 Player MX 100 and 200

By Rebecca Blain

The Creative Digital MP3 Player MX100 and MX200 only have a few differences. Before you can fully appreciate the differences between the two devices, it is important to know what is the same about them.

These two lines of players are very similar. They are both WMA and MP3 playback devices with FM capabilities. They can recorder discussions and speeches as well as FM radio at the touch of a button and come in a small, lightweight casing that allows you to put it in your pocket, purse or on a band to wear wherever you go.

The devices both make use of flash memory, which makes certain that your music never skips while you are playing sports, walking, jogging or otherwise exercising.

The primary difference between the MX100 and MX200 systems are the size of the flash memory drives in them. The MX100 sports a 128 meg flash memory drive, while the MX200 has 256 megs of space. This difference greatly impacts the amount of music that can be listened to without a song repeated, as well as the length of FM songs or conversations that can be recorded.

The second difference lies in the appearance of the Creative MX100 and MX200 systems. The MX100 is a lighter shade than the MX200, so it is easy to tell the two apart.

Unlike some systems, this Creative Digital MP3 Player line are both compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. In order to run the system, you will need a computer with the equivalent to an Intel Pentium 233 with 128 megs of ram and Windows 98SE, 2000, ME or XP. For Mac systems, OSX or newer is required. The system may run on OS9 as well, but is not fully guaranteed to operate. No other applications are required.
