Griffin Technology today announced the unveiling of its new lineup of powered speaker systems. Evolve is a speaker system with a flat charging base that holds your iPod in a Universal Dock.

Phone Disk lets users share files without iTunes (Macworld.com)
Macworld.com - One of the big gripes about iOS’s “File Sharing” feature is that it requires users to go through iTunes each time they wish to add or remove files from a device. If you'd like a more direct route for taking your files on-the-go, Macroplant’s Phone Disk grants access to your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad through everyone's favorite file management utility: the Finder.

Study: Kindle Can't Replace Textbooks Quite Yet

One would think young (well, mostly young) college students would be hip to new devices such as eReaders. But a new study that used Amazon's Kindle finds that while 90 percent of students liked the device for personal reading, up to 80 percent said they would not recommend it for studying. No word on whether those 80 percent told the folks who did the study to get off their lawns.

LimeWire Plans New 'Ecosystem' For The Cloud

Hot on the heels of our blog about Google's rumored digital music venture, news has emerged that LimeWire is also thinking along the same kind of lines. According to an article published by Digital Music News (DMN), LimeWire is looking to the cloud for its survival -- that's before it gets swallowed up in a sea of lawsuits. As you probably know, LimeWire's P2P legal situation at the moment is pretty dire. It has recently lost a copyright infringement case with the RIAA and more music labels are bringing claims against it.
