Seagate Announces New 3TB Drive Can Store "Countless Hours" of Digital Music According to a press release from Seagate, the company has just broken all storage records by releasing the world's first 3 Terabyte external hard drive. Seagate says that their new 3TB drive is capable of storing "countless hours" of digital music, or if you prefer: 120 HD movies, 1,500 video games, or thousands of photos.
Study: Kindle Can't Replace Textbooks Quite Yet One would think young (well, mostly young) college students would be hip to new devices such as eReaders. But a new study that used Amazon's Kindle finds that while 90 percent of students liked the device for personal reading, up to 80 percent said they would not recommend it for studying. No word on whether those 80 percent told the folks who did the study to get off their lawns.
Barnes & Noble Launches Nook eReading App for Android; iPhone and iPad Versions to Get Update Nook does. Barnes & Noble introduced a new eReading app today, this time to satiate the reading appetites of consumers who use Google's popular Android operating system. Folks with smartphones and other devices that run Android 1.6 or higher (hey, maybe I should test this on a rival eReader that runs on Android, just for giggles) will be able to use the free Nook for Android app, which is called, um, Nook. In fact, B&N says that it will start naming all its eReading applications Nook to build on the brand.

Is Google Getting Closer to Launching its Digital Music Service? There's little doubt that the mighty Google is planning a digital music service, but the question is when? According to a recent report by the New York Post, the companies' highly rumored music service has possibly just moved a little closer to launch. Goggle's Vice President of engineering, and Android guru, Andy Rubin, is allegedly involved in talks with New York-based company, The Harry Fox Agency -- used by the music industry for mechanical license fee collection and distribution.
