The Frontier Labs MP3 Player range - Lucking Fovely Entertainment!

By Carol Finch

The birth of the Frontier Labs MP3 player range started in Hong Kong in 2003. This year saw the company launch the NEX II, the first MP3 player to give consumers the chance to expand their memory capacity themselves at an affordable price.

This kind of technology development helped put MP3 control back into the hands of the users.

Frontier Labs are probably completely different to any other corporate organization you’ll come across in this, or any - sector. They don’t take themselves too seriously (hence the "lucking fovely entertainment" catchphrase!) and they maintain a no nonsense approach to business and how they market themselves.

But, they are completely committed to developing digital music technology that innovates and that works well for their users now and into the future. They take themselves very seriously here! Consequently, their own future continues to look bright!

Since the launch of the NEX II in 2003 the company has continued to develop innovative and feature rich new MP3 player solutions at affordable prices; their primary aim is to provide a product set that meets the needs of any customer and that gives flexibility via expandable capacity/memory options. They have also moved in hard-disk based player design recently, thus adding another string to their bow.

The company currently offers the following products:

  • The NEX Range - products in this range include the NEX 1A+, the NEX 3, and the NEX 3+. All players are designed to be compatible with external memory cards so you can control your own storage capacity.

  • The L1 - this player is a hard disk based player with a built-in capacity of 20GB.

Recent Frontier releases include the L1, a hard disk based multi-function player and the NEX 3 range. The company is also currently revising and releasing new accessories for their players.
